Behind the neck presses are often maligned as an exercise you should NEVER do unless you want to sacrifice your first born child 👶 Like with any exercise, if you load it properly, have adequate mobility, and use proper form, you’re money 💰. If it bothers your shoulders, just skip it. But don’t bash it! ➖➖➖➖ 🎯This variation not only works the shoulders but really hammers 🔨 the mid & lower traps and upper back. These muscles are critical for shoulder health and performance. Plus, the oscillating nature of the @bandbell setup slows you down and makes a lighter load go a longer way. It’s easier on the joints and easier to recover from. And it extends the time under tension for precious muscle pumps. ➖➖➖➖ 📝I like sets of 10-20 reps or work periods of 1-2 minutes for these bad boys. I’m using the bamboo bar from @bandbell but you can modify with any barbell or even a dowel or thick PVC pipe. Just attach bells or plates to each end of the bar with bands.
